My Grandma Myrtle was born on New Years Day 1901. She married a Navy man and traveled the world with their three sons, living in Peking China and Manila in the Philippines. She was widowed after Pearl Harbor and had to make her own way in the world with her three young sons. Coming home to Tacoma, Washington, the boys and relatives built a log cabin for her. Life was not easy, but she was resilient and brave.
I spent many times at the cozy cabin playing outside and cuddled up by the big fireplace. These patterns typify the things that she had and my love for my grandma.
